Every action you take could mean life or death for your group and potentially for humanity at large. In Virus Mode, you play as the virus itself, spreading across the globe. You evolve by mutating, developing resistance to treatments, and finding new hosts. Your objective is to outsmart the humans, adapt to their strategies, and spread to as many areas as possible. As the virus, you make strategic decisions about which populations to infect, which symptoms to exhibit to maximize spread, and how to mutate to survive longer.
Morality System: Choices and Consequences
The game integrates a morality system that tracks your choices and actions, affecting the storyline and game outcome. For example, in Human Mode, choosing to help a rival group might bring future allies or enemies depending on how they respond to your decisions. Similarly, in Virus Mode, choosing to kill off hosts quickly might lead to faster victories, but evolving more slowly and strategically could allow for a more extended spread, making you harder to eradicate. This system ensures that no two playthroughs are the same. Your decisions are constantly judged against a dynamic moral compass that reflects in-game relationships and world status, leading to multiple endings ranging from complete human victory to total viral domination.
