Hidden among the NPCs (non-player characters) are both hunters and targets — players must identify and eliminate their assigned target while avoiding detection from their own hunter. Players are cast as part of a sinister group hired by the mysterious “Mr. X,” a benefactor with a fascination for organized murder as entertainment. Each player is tasked with finding and assassinating specific targets among the crowd, all while pretending to be a part of the unassuming NPC populace.
Hunter and Prey Dynamic
Each player is given a target to assassinate, but they also have someone hunting them. This creates a tense dynamic where players must stay alert, watching for any suspicious behavior that could reveal their hunter’s identity while still focusing on eliminating their own target. Since the game takes place in a crowded environment, blending in with NPCs is essential. Players must walk, chat, and perform regular NPC-like actions to avoid raising suspicion. Moving too quickly, behaving erratically, or making sudden moves can give away one’s position. To encourage clever gameplay, the game uses a Favor system. The more discrete and calculated the kill, the higher the Favor earned. But make too much noise or attract too much attention, and your Exposure meter rises, making it easier for your hunter to identify and eliminate you.
