About Loop8 Summer of Gods
Loop8 Summer of Gods is a tale about gods and possession. Although it initially appears to be a typical coming-of-age JRPG where Nini spends his summer vacation attending school and making new friends, it really relies heavily on horror aspects while also incorporating some surprise sci-fi. Our main character is introduced when he relocates to Ashihara Nakatsu to begin a fresh life following an incident. This little village is not notable for anything other than one item. For some reason, the god-like Kegai do not assault it. It did strike me as weird that this wasn’t addressed more because the Kegai had devastated entire nations.
Nearly from the moment the narrative begins, Ashihara Nakatsu’s safety is no longer assured. When a seal is broken, Yomotsu Hirasaka becomes the first victim of Kegai’s invasion, possession, and transport to the underworld. Nini is asked to descend into the underworld, aid in the struggle, and either rescue or compassionately dispose of the possessed individual due to his gift—or curse—of Demon Sight, which allows him to view the other world. The world will end if this issue is not resolved right away. Although each individuals have their own storylines, Loop8: Summer of Gods’ main plot is rather thin. Essentially, it’s basically the same thing happening six times, followed by a decision-based little epilogue. Although it’s a JRPG, this definitely fits the loops motif, so don’t go into it expecting much of a narrative.
